Formal Rush Ends, Rebuilding Begins |
Dear Brothers,
Welcome to the fifth weekly reactivation recruitment drive newsletter [16-Feb]. You'll notice that we skipped last week's installment. There was a boat load of activity and not a minute to spare. We'll catch you up on everything that happened in this newsletter.
Now that formal rush has concluded, we're moving to a twice-monthly newsletter to keep you up to date on the pledge program and informal recruitment progress. Highlights: -
The Brother Recruitment Fund blew past it's goal of $50k. Brian and Louis from the UAA fundraising committee did an amazing job along with all the brothers who donated. Notable shout out to the Pledge Class of 85, making a bid for the best pledge class ever, they donated $10k to the fund!
-
[4-Feb] Meet the Alumni event was incredible. A contingent of over a dozen alumni went to Troy to meet the young men and the psych from everyone was palpable. More details below.
- [13-Feb] Pledge Ceremony. Fourteen new Upsilon pledges were initiated into the program last Thursday. The ceremony was attended by Upsilon Alumni along with Trey and Hunter.
-
[15-Feb] Chapter Retreat. The Advisory Committee held the first chapter retreat with the pledges. Soon class officers will be elected and the rebuilding begins.

Amazing work, Delts! We blew past our initial goal of $50k in just six weeks. What an incredible response by the brotherhood. Talk about Delt Speed! The journey is just beginning. The future of Upsilon is resting on the new class and they have a lot of work to do. We need your continued support. The new Upsilon pledges must continue their recruitment efforts to get to our goal of 20 new brothers by year's end.
The National Fraternity has left campus, the pledges are counting on Upsilon Alumni to help them continue the momentum. Please donate today! Administrative Notes: -
Donations are rolling in every day. The newsletter is accurate to Sundaaay, February 16th. If you donated after that we'll recognize your gift in the next edition.
-
We've had several brothers pledge donations to the UAA campaign. We're only counting the donations once we have the funds in hand. When you execute your pledge, we'll send you a receipt and recognize your donation in the newsletter.
-
Please remember, donations through Benevity, donor advised funds, cash, and checks take longer to process than those through our online platform. If you've donated through these avenues, we have you covered. Once the gift has been processed, the UAA will send you an email receipt and recognize your donation in the newsletter.
--------------------------------------------------------
Our goal is to provide additional incentives to attract new members, recognizing the substantial effort and time they will be committing to re-seeding and growing the chapter as superneos. To that end, this fundraising campaign aims to raise funds to defray 25% of the year one house bill for each of the first 20 new members (bids signed). 20 Bids x $2500 = $50,000 fundraising goal Annual housing costs are estimated to be just under $10,000 (RPI amount).
Help defray ~25% or $2500 scholarship award per new member for the effort to help restart the chapter. - Alumni can sponsor a bid ($2500) individually, or link up with other alumni to sponsor a bid as a group.
-
Any funds exceeding the $50,000 goal will go towards general reactivation and social events.
- Funds raised as part of this campaign will remain in UAA “coffers” until house renovations are complete ahead of move-in.
-
In the event of insufficient recruitment numbers, donations can be reimbursed or earmarked for other efforts by direction of giver.

| Brothers,
What a fortnight in Troy. Lot's of activity and much to do. The national consultants left Troy this weekend. A huge thanks is owed to Trey and Hunter--they did a heckuva job! Let's take you through the updates. |

A big thank you to all of the alumni who showed up to greet our new pledges. It was a wonderful event. Over pizza and soda, we could see the chapter rebuilding in front of us. The pledges came off incredibly psyched to be part of Upsilon. This group is ready to take on the challenge of building something brand new while appreciating they're a part of a storied organization.
Every brother came away from the event with admiration for this group of men. They have the right mindset and work ethic to be Delts and they're ready for the responsibility. We're more motivated than ever to help these future brothers continue the journey. Be on the lookout for future newsletters when start our "Meet the Pledges" series.

It's official: After a four year absence, Upsilon has a new pledge class in Troy! Please join me in congratulating all 14 members of the Pledge Class of 2025. Paul Raschilla, Carl Telban, and Jeff Andritz joined the chapter consultants to help conduct the ceremony, held in the Heffner Alumni House.
I know you're eager to meet the new pledges. In coming newsletters be on the lookout for "Meet the Pledges".

...And the work begins. This weekend Upsilon conducted its first Chapter retreat, Twaffle and Fluke attended for the alumni and the men already have the first draft of their Bylaws plus semester goals for every position. This was the last duty for our two consultants Trey and Hunter. They hit the road west immediately after. They are driving together to Colorado, then Trey is continuing to Arizona. |

Sage Aucoin, ΔΤΔ Director Officer Education will be on campus this coming week to review the officer guides with all new members. (If anyone is interested the officer guides can be found at https://www.delts.org/mydelt).
Following that, ΔΤΔ chapter consultant Joe Hiatt will visit. This will be the first time Upsilon will be presenting what they plan to accomplish instead of being given resources. Upsilon is required to submit their petition to national in six weeks. I will be working with them to assemble the petition. I am required to submit a letter of support as the Colony Advisor, but I would like to include a letter from the UAA and House Corp as well to show our strength from the alumni side.
I will pull together more specifics in the coming weeks. The initiation and re-chartering will land somewhere close to April 12. The Central Office will confirm this date for us.
We're looking to coordinate a banquet after the initiation. We need your support! Please email me if can be a part of the celebration.
I will be coordinating the diddly questions outreach with Splinther. Please email me if you'd like to contribute.
yf,
Jeffery Andritz (Fluke '03), Chapter Advisor.

As we reactivate Upsilon and renovate the Shelter in 2025, your financial, expertise and volunteering support is most crucial. The UAA has been created to strengthen the Delt community by providing face to face and virtual events, provide a communication platform for the Alumni, and importantly, provide continuity and separation from RPI. Your tax-deductible donation is appreciated, and eligible for corporate-matching via Benevity. Also, please consider how you can get involved directly in a UAA role in 2025. Please contact us for more info.
