Dear Brothers,
Plenty of updates to share regarding the recolonization effort at RPI, and all the rapid progress the new members have been making in preparation to re-charter the Upsilon Chapter. Also included is the first installment of the Colony Member bios, providing a brief introduction of the new brothers-to-be. If you want to introduce yourself, upload a brief video and we'll include it as part of the compilation we'll be sharing with the new members. Lastly, get psyched for Alumni Weekend, October 10th - 12th!!

New Membership Program Cruising Along!! |
Brothers, We are now in week 5 of 8 in the new member and colonization process at RPI. We have 14 strong members who have already created a budget, adopted a new set of bylaws and set goals for each officer's position. They are more than 50% complete with the requirements of their petition to be re-chartered.
Weekly Colony and Exec meetings are being held in the Low Building on campus. Recently Zac Autio (Chunder ‘10) stopped by to introduce the new members to the Doc Medicus scholarship and has since begun accepting applications. Saturday Dinners have already become a weekly brotherhood event for the Colony. They typically meet each week at the Commons Dining Hall, with the exception of this past Saturday when they hosted 10 alumni at an off-campus Saturday Dinner at Brown’s Brewery. The event was organized by the new members and a good time was had by all! The Chapter Petition is required around week 6 of the Colony period. This will require all of the following materials to be submitted by the end of March. -

- Hazing prevention and sexual assault programming (offered by RPI)

- Honor board created with process (complete)
- Delts Talk About Alcohol training (online)

Calendar of events... plus their execution
Recruitment will be the major focus of the Colony. All social, philanthropy and external events will include some potential new members and recruitment focus. The first formal recruitment event was held on March 13th, at Uncle Sam Lanes. RPI allows for opening bidding through the end of the semester. This means they can bring in new members any time they like.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I have talked with many of you about how you can help the group. General support and encouragement is the biggest thing right now. They are highly motivated and really appreciate the connection with alumni. They need a breakthrough with recruitment this spring, but I am confident they can extend a few more bids this spring.
